My adventure in Nepal was incredible! I started in Kathmandu, where the streets were alive with color and noise. After a few days soaking in the local culture, I finally hit the trails, and wow—the moment I started hiking, I was blown away by the views. The towering peaks looked even more majestic than in pictures, and I loved walking through those vibrant rhododendron forests. Every step was a mix of effort and beauty, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
Did you know? Cows are everywhere in Nepal, and it’s mainly because they’re considered sacred in Hinduism, which is the main religion there. People believe treating them well brings good luck. Cows are part of various festivals and rituals, making them a big part of daily life. You’ll even see them roaming freely in cities, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. It’s really fascinating how integral they are to Nepalese culture!

The Monkeys of Kathmandu!
Monkeys are quite common in Nepal! You’ll often see them in places like temples and parks. Some people usually enjoy their presence but some also gets scared because these little ones can get violent sometimes.
On my way to the Mountains!

MY FIRST BUS EXPERIENCE IN NEPAL
Traveling by bus in Nepal in the ’80s was an adventure in itself. With no formal bus stops, the journey was a long, bumpy ride through the plains, winding up towards the mountains. If nature called, you’d have to hop off and find a rock or bush for cover—though, more often than not, open plains stretched as far as the eye could see. It was rugged, raw, and challenging, setting the tone for the trek ahead and giving a taste of the endurance and adaptability that Nepal’s landscapes demanded.
Sherpas on the road!
Meeting the Sherpas was unforgettable. They moved with a quiet ease, carrying loads up steep, rocky paths that most people would struggle with even unburdened. Being around them, I felt an immense respect not only for their strength but for their dedication, humility, and reverence for the mountains they call home.

Cows and Yaks on the Trail!
One of the most memorable things about this trip was having to share the narrow mountain trail with cows and yaks!

And yes, there are goats too!
Aside from cows and yaks, we saw goats as well. And let me tell you, there were plenty!

I snapped a photo of this kid perched at the edge of a rooftop, and it perfectly captured the essence of adventure. This image still brings a smile to my face!
